Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine?

A Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) is a fully licensed and trained physician in the United States. DO’s receive extra training on the musculoskeletal system as a part of their medical education.

What is Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT)?

OMT is a non invasive treatment that seeks to improve whole body health via a hands-on manipulation of the body. The physician works synergistically with the body and provides a stimulus so that the body can continue to heal itself even after treatment is completed.

What conditions can you treat?

OMT can address a variety of ailments. Most often, it is helpful to relieve pain such as headaches, TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) dysfunction, joint pains, muscle aches, back and neck pain. There are also techniques to improve lymphatic flow in the body to reduce inflammation and swelling, and to help the body’s immune system.
